Our Bell Joint can be installed quickly without interruption of service. A large, special rubber-compound gasket shuts off the leak when compressed by the spigot ring (around the spigot) drawn up, in turn, by bolts connected to a bell ring (anchored on the bell).
Cutaway view showing how Style 60 Clamps stop leaks and reinforce the joint. Style 160 Clamps, furnished in some sizes, are similar in design except the spigot ring adjustment is secured by serrated ends instead of clips thus providing a”wrap-around” assembly.
The spigot ring of the style 60 has a wide range of adjustments made possible by the use of clips having fillers with the same cross-section as the spigot ring.
Serrated ends on the bell ring sections furnish simple and effective means of adjustment, providing a positive and snug fit on the bell for varying outside bell diameters.
The new design spigot ring of the Style 160 Clamp “hinges” to wrap around the spigot easily. There are no clips. Sections bolt together.
The spigot ring of the Style 160 adjusts to a close fit by means of serrated ends on the spigot ring sections. Special fillers are inserted to complete the gasket recess and provide a continuous ring for positive gasket sealing.
These convenient collar clamps stop leaks through the threads of screw collars (threaded couplings) quickly and inexpensively. Repairs are positive and permanent, normally made without interrupting service or dismantling the line. Thousands of both these clamps are in use by maintenance departments everywhere, not only for stopping leaks but preventing them.
Consists of two malleable spilled follower rings with interlocking ends on each section, two resilient, split Dresser Gaskets (plain), and a number of steel bolts. Supplied for pipe sizes through 4 ”
consists of the same4 parts except that the split follower rings are steel and are connected by steel lock links. Supplied for pipe sizes 5” OD through 12” ID.
Clamps in most sizes can be used on collars of the latest API standards. In case of doubt as to correct clamp to specify, write for the recommendation, giving pipe or casing size, overall diameter, and length of collar to be clamped.
